We will be holding an honoring ceremony for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Two-Spirit on Saturday, May 2, starting at 10 a.m.in Debate Square Park in Freeport, IL.

A native flute will open the ceremony to help us deepen our connection with the Great Spirit. Native music and a Jingle Dress dancer for healing will honor those who are voiceless. A speaker and prayer will round out the ceremony. A free will donation fry bread lunch and the movie "Spirit, A Journey Into Dance, Drums, and Song," will follow at the Freeport Public Library.

The park is located next to the library at 114 E Douglas St, Freeport, IL.

A silent auction will be held during the lunch and movie time, and MMIW t-shirts will be sold as a fundraiser for the organization.

The event and lunch are free to the public. If you are going to join us, please bring a lawn chair. In case of rain, the event will be held in the library on the main level.
